GUEST  SPEAKER - JULY

General Meeting Thursday 13th July  at  8.00 pm to 9.00pm

TIM  CURMI
 from
 NATIVE FISH AUSTRALIA (VIC)

Tim is a freshwater ecologist and currently is president of Native Fish Australia (Vic).  After completing an Aquatic Science degree at Deakin University in the early 1990s, he went on to complete an Honours degree studying native fish ecology through La Trobe University.
Since then he had worked for various organisations including La Trobe University Wodonga and the Environment Protection Authority where he carried out river health assessments across Victoria.
He is particularly interested in the ecology of and restoration of endangered native fish populations to their former levels, and in engaging and empowering the community in ways to protect and promote native fish and preserve & improve river health.

The subject he will speak on:

The latest news re our native fishery -- where to fly fish for native fish -- flies which will catch native fish

Come and hear from the President of Native Fish Australia whom  also fly fishes for native fish and also ties his own flies which catch these fish and gain the expertise as to how to catch these fish.

The knowledge we will gain from him will be invaluable and maybe a trip to Eildon to target 10lb Yellowbelly and other natives should be included in our yearly syllabus.

General Meeting will commence immediately after Guest Speaker
