November 3rd – 7th Omeo – Mitta

This is one of the highlights of the club's trips calendar and offers great fishing opportunities as well as excellent accommodation and an opportunity to relax with friends over a long weekend, or a weekend if you are unable to stay until Tuesday

Venues to fish: Mitta Mitta River, Cobungra River, Bundarra River, Rocky Valley Reservoir, Pretty Valley Pondage, Lake Guy, Gibbo River, Big River, Livingstone Creek and any legal waterway within a 60km radius of Omeo.

Travel Directions: (click here) for map. East to Bairnsdale, then to Bruthen, turn left up the Great Alpine Road to Omeo. Total Distance 403 kms from Lillydale Lake – 4hrs 45 mins travel time.

Travel Requirements: High country means cold water and cold air. Need waders, wading pole, wet gear, spare dry clothes in bag, sunscreen, hat, polaroids, personal medicines. Let somebody know where you are going, and when you will be returning. Bring fuel, and a chair. Bring a PLB (Epirb for you, not your boat)

Accommodation: Omeo Alpine Camp, 79 Day Avenue, Omeo. Bunkhouses with a common dining room, plus a games room with a billiard table.  Need to bring your own bedding (sleeping bag or blankets), pillow, towel.
Cost is $30 per person per night. Late check-out after Tuesday weigh-in has been arranged.

Catering: Bring your own food. Camp has a fully equipped kitchen.

Registration: $5.00 each – pay in the Bailey Room to Treasurer or Trip Steward prior to the event (Wednesday or Sunday), or pay by noon Saturday at the camp.

Weather: This is the high country and conditions can change erratically and very fast. If in any doubt about conditions changing, then head for home. Snow, bushfires and deluging storms are all possible.
